Political figure Khera alleges that drug trafficking and casino operations have expanded under the BJP administration, raising concerns over law and order.
Khera, a noted political commentator, asserted that the trade in illicit drugs and the operation of casinos have seen significant growth during the tenure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. The statement was reported by The Times of India, which quoted Khera as warning that such activities undermine public safety.
The allegation comes amid broader debates about the BJP's handling of law‑and‑order issues across the country. Khera did not provide specific data but suggested that the proliferation of these illegal enterprises reflects a lax regulatory environment.
No official response from the BJP or any government agency has been recorded as of now. Opposition parties and civil‑society groups have previously highlighted similar concerns, but the current claim adds fresh pressure on the administration to address the alleged rise in criminal activities.
Analysts note that if substantiated, the allegations could have political ramifications ahead of upcoming electoral contests, prompting calls for stricter enforcement and transparency.
