Hashim Musa, identified as a chief conspirator in the Pahalgam terror plot, was killed during a security operation, officials said.
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir reported that Hashim Musa, described as a key plotter behind the recent Pahalgam terror scheme, was neutralised in a gun‑battle on Saturday. The encounter took place in the outskirts of Pahalgam, a popular hill station in the Anantnag district, where intelligence inputs indicated Musa was attempting to regroup with other operatives.
Police officials confirmed his identity after a forensic examination and said the operation was part of a broader crackdown on militant networks linked to the plot. No civilian casualties were reported, and the forces recovered weapons and communication devices believed to belong to the conspirators.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to trace any remaining links of the Pahalgam plot and have urged the public to cooperate with ongoing inquiries. The incident underscores the continued vigilance of security agencies in the region against terror-related activities.
