The state of Kerala has issued yellow weather alerts for several districts in anticipation of heavier rainfall.
Kerala has announced that it is bracing for a significant increase in rainfall across the state. In response, the Meteorological Department has issued yellow alerts for several districts, signalling the possibility of heavy showers and potential flooding.
The alerts cover districts that are prone to waterlogging and landslides, prompting local authorities to prepare emergency response plans and ensure that drainage systems are operational.
Meteorologists predict that the monsoon will bring above-average rainfall over the coming days, with some areas experiencing up to 200 millimetres in a 24‑hour period.
Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels, avoid traveling through low‑lying areas, and keep emergency supplies ready.
