Two women from Kerala who were killed in California are being returned to India after state minister Gopi intervened with US authorities.

Two women belonging to Kerala lost their lives in an incident in California, United States. The circumstances of the deaths have not been disclosed, but the tragedy prompted swift action from the Kerala state government.

Kerala minister Gopi, who heads the department handling expatriate affairs, personally contacted the Indian Embassy in Washington and the local authorities in California to secure the necessary clearances for repatriating the bodies. He also coordinated with the families to ensure they receive timely information and support.

The Indian Embassy confirmed that the remains will be flown to India on a chartered flight, with all legal and health protocols being observed. Officials expect the bodies to reach Kerala within the next few days, after which the families will be able to perform final rites according to their customs.

The incident underscores the challenges faced by Keralites working abroad and the role of state officials in assisting distressed families overseas.
