Heavy rains in Kerala have claimed five lives and left two people missing. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has ordered hourly monitoring of the situation.
Heavy rains have battered Kerala's coastal districts, causing widespread flooding and landslides. The deluge has been reported across Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha, with water levels rising rapidly in low-lying areas.
So far, five people have lost their lives and two others remain missing, according to local authorities. Rescue teams are working round the clock to locate the missing persons.
