Kerala’s Home Minister K. Chennithala announced that the state will take firm measures against agencies that lure citizens with bogus overseas job and education offers.
Kerala Home Minister K. Chennithala said in a press briefing that the state government will not tolerate agencies that deceive job‑seekers and students with false promises of overseas employment and education.
He highlighted a growing trend of fraudulent operators using attractive foreign job and study offers to trap vulnerable citizens, often extracting large sums of money before disappearing.
The minister announced that law‑enforcement agencies will be instructed to intensify investigations, seize assets of the culprits and file criminal cases under existing anti‑fraud statutes. Coordination with central ministries and foreign embassies will also be strengthened to curb cross‑border scams.
Chennithala urged the public to report suspicious advertisements and assured that swift legal action will serve as a deterrent to such exploitative practices.
