Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan alleged that former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had Rs 20.5 crore credited to his daughter’s account without any service rendered, and called the claim a serious breach of trust.

On a recent session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan publicly alleged that former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had a sum of about Rs 20.5 crore credited to his daughter’s bank account without any corresponding service or transaction.

Kuzhalnadan asserted that the money appeared suspicious and suggested that Vijayan seemed to be under pressure and fearful of something. He appealed to ordinary members of the Communist Party to recognise the gravity of the alleged diversion.

Vijayan had earlier responded in the same assembly, dismissing the accusations as a blatant lie. No independent audit or verification of the purported transaction has been presented to date.

The allegation is linked to the broader CMRL controversy, but the MLA’s remarks focus solely on the alleged financial irregularity involving the former chief minister’s family.
