Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday, presenting a list of infrastructure projects that the state seeks from the central government.
The demands highlighted by Vijayan include the construction of new metro links to improve connectivity in urban areas and the initiation of river linking projects aimed at enhancing water management and irrigation across the state.
Vijayan emphasized that these projects would not only boost Kerala’s economic growth but also address long‑standing challenges such as traffic congestion and water scarcity.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the proposals and said the central government would review them in the upcoming policy discussions, with a view to integrating them into national development plans.
