Arvind Kejriwal cautioned that the Aam Aadmi Party will need to exercise greater caution in choosing candidates for the Rajya Sabha after the exit of Raghav Chadha.
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said on Thursday that the party would be "extra cautious" in selecting candidates for the Rajya Sabha following the recent exit of Raghav Chadha.
Chadha, who had been a prominent figure in the party’s legislative strategy, stepped down from the party’s Rajya Sabha nomination list, prompting a reassessment of the selection process.
Kejriwal emphasized that the party would now scrutinise potential candidates more closely to avoid similar withdrawals and to maintain the integrity of its legislative agenda.
The statement came as AAP prepares to fill several vacant Rajya Sabha seats, a move that could influence the party’s influence in the upper house of Parliament.
Political analysts suggest that the party’s cautious approach may be aimed at ensuring that future nominees are fully committed to the party’s objectives and are less likely to withdraw at the last minute.
