Bengaluru, Aug 19 (Reuters) – Karnataka's chief minister D.K. Shivakumar declared the state a growing hub for new research, highlighting its expanding scientific ecosystem. The statement was made during a recent press briefing where the minister emphasized the government's focus on fostering innovation.
Shivakumar pointed to the presence of several premier institutions, including the Indian Institute of Science and a network of biotechnology parks, as evidence of the state's research capacity. He noted that recent collaborations between academia and industry are accelerating the development of cutting‑edge technologies.
The minister added that positioning Karnataka as a research hub is expected to attract investment, create skilled jobs and strengthen the state's contribution to India's knowledge economy.
