The Karnataka government announced the deployment of an artificial‑intelligence platform to monitor agricultural produce from cultivation to consumer, and revealed that 27 agri‑tech innovations have been shortlisted for the initiative.
The state of Karnataka has approved the launch of an artificial‑intelligence based system designed to trace crops from the farm gate to the dinner plate. The platform will collect data at multiple stages – sowing, growth, harvest and distribution – to improve transparency and reduce post‑harvest losses.
Officials said the AI solution will integrate satellite imagery, sensor inputs and market information, enabling farmers and buyers to access real‑time insights on crop health and price trends. The initiative aims to strengthen the state's agrarian supply chain and boost farmer incomes.
Alongside the AI rollout, the government disclosed that 27 agri‑tech innovations have been shortlisted for further development under the program. These innovations span precision farming tools, cold‑chain logistics, and digital marketplaces, and will be evaluated for scalability across Karnataka's diverse agricultural zones.
