Karnataka will dispatch 500 skilled electricity workers to Andhra Pradesh to help restore power supplies disrupted by Cyclone Arnab, the state government said.

The Karnataka government announced that it will deploy five hundred trained power‑sector personnel to the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh to assist in restoring electricity after Cyclone Arnab caused widespread outages.

Cyclone Arnab, which made landfall along the eastern coast, knocked down transmission lines and damaged substations, leaving millions of households without power across several districts of Andhra Pradesh.

State officials said the Karnataka teams, equipped with repair tools and spare parts, will coordinate with Andhra Pradesh’s electricity board to prioritize critical infrastructure such as hospitals, schools and water supply stations.

The joint effort is expected to begin within the next 48 hours and continue until normal supply is re‑established, underscoring inter‑state cooperation in disaster response.

Karnataka’s Chief Minister’s office described the move as a “solidarity gesture” aimed at mitigating the humanitarian impact of the cyclone on the affected population.
