The Karnataka State Electricity Regulatory Commission has announced a set of new rules aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of electricity supply across the state.

The Karnataka State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) released a draft of new electricity supply rules on Tuesday, signalling a move to streamline operations and enhance consumer protection. The proposed framework focuses on transparent pricing, stricter compliance for distribution companies, and a framework for faster resolution of power outages. KSERC officials said the changes will also introduce incentives for renewable energy integration and demand‑side management initiatives. The draft is open for public comment until the end of next month, after which the commission will review feedback before formal adoption.
