Minister DK Shivakumar occupied the chief executive’s office in Bengaluru to protest a disagreement over the filing of Form 7, prompting a standoff with officials.
Earlier today Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar entered the chief executive’s office in Bengaluru and began a sit‑in to highlight a row over the filing of Form 7. The protest was aimed at drawing attention to what he described as procedural lapses in the handling of the form, which is required for certain administrative clearances.
State officials reported that the minister’s presence disrupted normal office work and that security personnel were instructed to contain the situation without resorting to force. Shivakumar remained inside the office for several hours, refusing to leave until his concerns were addressed.
The standoff concluded after senior officials agreed to review the Form 7 filing process and to meet the minister’s team for clarification. No arrests were made, and the office resumed regular operations later in the day.
