The Karnataka government is evaluating voice‑based artificial intelligence tools to enhance skill development programmes, healthcare delivery and assistance for investors, officials said.

Bengaluru, Karnataka – State officials announced that Karnataka is exploring the use of voice‑enabled artificial intelligence to streamline several public services. The initiative aims to integrate voice AI into the state's skill development schemes, allowing trainees to access learning modules and certification processes through conversational interfaces.

In the health sector, the technology is being assessed for its potential to provide patients with voice‑guided information on medical services, appointment scheduling and basic health advice, especially in rural areas where digital literacy may be limited. The government hopes that such hands‑free interaction will improve accessibility and reduce the burden on frontline health workers.

The project also includes a component to assist investors, with voice AI tools designed to answer queries about regulatory procedures, land acquisition and incentives offered by the state. By offering real‑time, spoken guidance, Karnataka aims to make the investment climate more transparent and user‑friendly.

The exploration is still in its pilot phase, with collaborations expected between state agencies, technology firms and academic institutions. Officials indicated that outcomes from the trials will inform a broader rollout across the state.
