The Karnataka government announced a focused campaign to woo major Singapore-based firms, aiming to boost investment and create jobs in the state.
Bengaluru, Karnataka – The state administration unveiled a new outreach program targeting large Singaporean enterprises. Officials said the initiative will showcase Karnataka's manufacturing capabilities, skilled workforce and supportive policies to encourage foreign direct investment.
The campaign includes roadshows, one‑on‑one meetings with senior executives and incentives such as tax rebates and streamlined approvals. Industry bodies were invited to participate, and a dedicated liaison cell will be set up in the state capital to facilitate negotiations.
State officials expect the effort to translate into several multi‑billion‑rupee projects, particularly in sectors like electronics, logistics and renewable energy. The move aligns with Karnataka's broader goal of positioning itself as a hub for international business in South India.
While details of specific companies remain confidential, the government indicated that discussions are already underway with a handful of Singaporean firms that have expressed interest in expanding operations in the region.
The initiative also dovetails with recent announcements by Singapore's SATS Ltd., which plans to broaden its footprint in India, signaling growing bilateral economic ties.
