Karnataka Health Department Expands Free Denture Camps for Rural Seniors
The state’s health ministry has launched “Dental Bhagya” camps at the taluk level, offering free dentures to eligible elderly residents in rural Karnataka.
The Karnataka Health Department announced the expansion of free denture camps under the "Dental Bhagya" scheme, targeting senior citizens in rural areas.
The camps will be set up at the taluk level, providing prosthetic teeth at no cost to eligible elderly residents, aiming to improve oral health and overall well‑being.
The initiative forms part of the state government's broader effort to protect senior citizens' health, with eligibility criteria defined by the health department and the program scheduled to operate across multiple taluks.
Officials said the camps will be staffed by dental professionals and will also include basic health check‑ups and counseling on oral hygiene, benefitting thousands of seniors and reducing the burden of dental problems in the aging population.
