The Karnataka High Court has named former bureaucrat R. Hitendra as the head of a Special Investigation Team to oversee the veterinary recruitment process.
The Karnataka High Court intervened in the ongoing controversy surrounding the state’s veterinary recruitment drive and selected former senior officer R. Hitendra to lead a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The appointment aims to bring transparency and address allegations of irregularities that have delayed the hiring of veterinary professionals across the state.
As head of the SIT, Hitendra will supervise the verification of candidate credentials, ensure compliance with reservation norms, and monitor the final selection process. The court’s order also mandates regular reporting to the bench, allowing judicial oversight until the recruitment is completed.
Stakeholders, including the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Department, have welcomed the decision, noting that an independent probe could restore confidence among applicants and expedite the filling of vacant posts critical to animal health services in the state.
