A team of forest doctors from Karnataka's forest department has arrived in Chitradurga on an official visit aimed at enhancing the area's green cover and addressing tree health concerns.
The specialists plan to plant additional saplings to expand the green belt surrounding the district, thereby contributing to broader afforestation goals.
They will also administer advanced phytotherapy treatments to old trees showing signs of disease, using cutting‑edge plant‑based remedies to restore vitality.
The mission forms part of the state’s ongoing environmental protection programme, which seeks to improve forest health and biodiversity across Karnataka.
Officials expect the combined planting and treatment efforts to strengthen the local ecosystem and set a precedent for similar initiatives in other districts.
