The Karnataka government and Singapore officials have agreed to broaden investment cooperation, with Singapore’s real‑estate giant CapitaLand signalling plans to increase its presence in the state.
Karnataka’s industry ministry and a delegation from Singapore met in Bengaluru to discuss ways to deepen bilateral investment ties. Both sides highlighted the state’s growth in technology, manufacturing and infrastructure as attractive for Singaporean capital.
Singapore‑based real‑estate developer CapitaLand said it is evaluating opportunities to expand its portfolio in Karnataka, including potential projects in commercial and residential segments. The firm’s spokesperson indicated that the company is reviewing land parcels and joint‑venture possibilities with local partners.
Officials said the enhanced partnership could channel several hundred million dollars of Singaporean investment into the state over the next few years, creating jobs and supporting Karnataka’s aim to become a hub for smart‑city initiatives.
