Karnataka CM says many leaders are in touch, hints at BJP and JD(S) defections

Bengaluru – The chief minister of Karnataka told reporters that a number of political leaders have reached out to him in recent days. He did not name any individuals but said the contacts point to a growing discontent within rival parties.
The minister hinted that some members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (Secular) could be considering a switch to his camp ahead of upcoming electoral contests. He emphasized that his party remains open to those who wish to join, while underscoring the importance of stability in the state.
Political analysts note that Karnataka, a key battleground state, has seen frequent realignments in the past. The chief minister's remarks come at a time when both the BJP and JD(S) are strategising for the next assembly elections, and any defections could alter the balance of power.
The opposition parties have not responded to the comments, and no official statements confirming any defections have been released so far.
