The new designation is intended to elevate the status of teachers across the state, recognising their expertise and contribution to education. By adopting a unique title, the government hopes to foster greater respect and motivation among educators.
The announcement also highlighted plans to integrate the new title into official documents, certificates, and academic records. Officials said the change will be implemented gradually, with support from the Department of Education.
Teachers’ associations have welcomed the move, citing it as a step toward professional recognition and career development. The state government will soon release guidelines on how the title will be awarded and used in practice.
