Karnataka Cabinet convenes in Mangaluru to fast‑track coastal infrastructure projects

The state cabinet gathered in the coastal city of Mangaluru, bringing together the chief minister and senior ministers to discuss development priorities. Minister UT Khader used the session to stress that upgrading the coastal belt will now be the government's foremost agenda. He outlined the need for modernising ports, improving coastal road connectivity and strengthening flood‑control measures to protect vulnerable communities. The cabinet agreed to set up a dedicated task force and earmark funds for these projects, linking them to broader goals of boosting trade, tourism and climate resilience. Officials said the focus on coastal infrastructure is expected to generate employment and attract private investment in the region.
