BJP leaders in Karnataka staged protests demanding a rollback of recent hikes in public bus fares and milk prices, urging the state government to intervene.
Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party organised a series of demonstrations across the state to protest the recent surge in public bus fares and the price of milk. Party officials said the steep increase is straining daily commuters and low‑income families, making essential travel and nutrition unaffordable.
The protesters gathered outside major bus depots and market areas, holding placards that highlighted the dual burden of transport and food costs. BJP representatives demanded that the state government freeze the fare hike and intervene to stabilise milk prices, calling the moves "unjustified" and "politically motivated".
Party leaders also warned that continued price pressure could erode public confidence in the ruling administration, and they pledged to raise the issue in upcoming legislative sessions. The state government has not yet issued a formal response to the demands.
