A pro‑Kannada organization announced a month‑long campaign aimed at securing job rights for Kannadigas across India.

A pro‑Kannada group has unveiled a 30‑day campaign to advocate for the job rights of Kannadigas nationwide. The organization, which has been active in cultural and linguistic advocacy, stated that the campaign will focus on securing fair representation in public sector employment and addressing perceived discrimination in hiring practices.

The campaign will run from 1 November to 30 November, with daily outreach through social media, community meetings, and targeted petitions to government bodies. The group plans to collaborate with local unions and civil‑society organisations to amplify its message.

Officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment have yet to comment on the initiative, but the group’s spokesperson said that the campaign seeks constructive dialogue rather than confrontation. The organization also intends to compile data on employment gaps faced by Kannadigas to support its demands.

If successful, the campaign could prompt a review of reservation policies and hiring guidelines for linguistic minorities, potentially setting a precedent for other regional groups seeking similar protections.
