Kanha Reserve Elephants Get 7-Day Rest with Massage, Special Diet

The Kanha Tiger Reserve authorities announced a seven‑day break for 16 departmental elephants, running from 15 to 20 September. The rest period will be carried out at a rejuvenation camp in Supkhara, where caretakers will provide massages, conduct health examinations and offer a special diet. In addition to physical care, the elephants will participate in play activities designed to keep them mentally stimulated, while mahouts will also receive training during the camp. The initiative is part of the reserve’s ongoing efforts to ensure the well‑being of its working elephants and maintain high standards of animal welfare.
