In a Jodhpur village, a mother of three and her lover were publicly beaten, had their heads shaved and were forced to wear a garland of shoes as a form of humiliation.
A violent mob in a Jodhpur village assaulted a woman who is mother to three children and her partner, who is married to another woman. According to local reports, the pair were dragged to a public area where villagers beat them with sticks and other objects.
After the beating, the assailants shaved the heads of both individuals. The victims were then forced to wear a garland made of shoes, a symbolic act meant to humiliate them in front of the community.
