Jodhpur–Katra Direct Train Launched; Pilgrims Skip Jammu Tawi Transfer

Indian Railways has extended the Sabarimala–Jammu Tawi Express to reach Katra, the base camp of the Vaishno Devi shrine. The new service connects Jodhpur directly with Katra, eliminating the need for pilgrims to change trains at Jammu Tawi. The extended route passes through key stations in Rajasthan and Punjab before reaching Katra. The service is expected to ease travel for thousands of devotees who previously had to transfer at Jammu Tawi, saving time and reducing travel hassle. Train timings and frequency are set to accommodate the high volume of pilgrims during the pilgrimage season.
