The Jammu and Kashmir Food and Drug Administration carried out 140 inspections and collected 55 food samples across 12 districts, aiming to strengthen food safety standards.

The Jammu and Kashmir Food and Drug Administration (JKFDA) intensified its food safety operations by conducting 140 inspections across the state. During the inspections, officials collected 55 food samples from various retail outlets and processing units.

The samples were taken from 12 districts, covering a broad geographic spread to ensure comprehensive coverage. The samples will undergo laboratory testing to verify compliance with national food safety standards.

JKFDA officials emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader effort to safeguard public health and to enforce strict regulatory measures on food products sold in the region.

The agency plans to release detailed findings once laboratory results are available, and it has urged food businesses to cooperate fully with regulatory inspections.
