J&K Tourism Wins ‘Best Tourist Destination’ Award at ITM Goa 2026

The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department received the Best Tourist Destination accolade at the International Tourism Mart (ITM) in Goa this year. The award, presented during the annual ITM event that showcases India’s top travel destinations, recognised the state’s growing appeal among domestic and international visitors. Officials highlighted the region’s diverse landscapes, cultural heritage sites and recent infrastructure improvements as key factors behind the recognition. The accolade is expected to further boost promotional efforts and attract additional tourist inflow to the valley in the coming seasons.

Tourism authorities in Jammu and Kashmir said the award underscores the success of recent initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity, hospitality standards and sustainable travel practices. They also noted that the ITM platform provides valuable exposure to travel trade professionals, which can translate into higher bookings and longer stays.

Stakeholders anticipate that the recognition will encourage more tour operators to include Jammu and Kashmir in their itineraries, thereby supporting local economies and creating employment opportunities in the hospitality sector.
