The Leader of Opposition in Jammu & Kashmir, Sunil Sharma, has publicly demanded that the state assembly be dissolved, citing political stalemate.
Sunil Sharma, the Leader of Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, called for the dissolution of the assembly on Thursday, stating that the political impasse has left the state without effective governance.
Sharma said that the ruling party’s failure to form a stable government and the lack of consensus among coalition partners had stalled legislative business. He urged the Governor to consider a fresh election to restore political stability.
The call comes amid growing frustration among opposition parties, who have repeatedly demanded a caretaker government to manage state affairs until new elections can be held.
The Governor’s office has yet to respond to Sharma’s demand, and the political situation in the Union Territory remains tense as the next election cycle approaches.
