The Jammu and Kashmir government issued a statement on Monday to address circulating rumors that the issuance of Other Backward Class (OBC) certificates for four specific castes had been stopped. The official clarification confirmed that the certification process continues as per existing guidelines and that no suspension order has been issued.
The clarification also touched upon a nomenclature dispute that arose after certain media reports used an incorrect term to describe the affected castes. Officials explained that the confusion stemmed from a misinterpretation of the official list, and they have now rectified the terminology in all public communications.
