The Jammu and Kashmir administration has placed 29 probationary accounts officers across multiple government departments, aiming to strengthen financial oversight.

The government of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir announced today that 29 accounts officer probationers have been deployed across a range of departmental offices.
The deployment covers key ministries such as finance, revenue, health, education and public works, with each officer assigned to assist senior officials in accounting, audit and expenditure monitoring.
Officials said the move is part of a broader effort to improve financial management and compliance following recent reforms in the public finance system.
The probationers, who cleared the civil services examination and are undergoing a one‑year training period, will rotate through assignments to gain practical experience before confirmation.
The administration expects the additional manpower to enhance transparency and efficiency in the handling of public funds across the union territory.
