The Jammu and Kashmir Education Department has issued a revised seniority list for senior lecturers, adjusting their service rankings across the state.
In a circular released this week, the Jammu and Kashmir Education Department announced a comprehensive revision of the seniority order for senior lecturers serving in government colleges.
The revision aims to correct long‑standing discrepancies in service records and to bring uniformity to promotion and posting decisions.
Under the new list, seniority will be recalculated based on actual dates of appointment, qualifications and prior promotions, which will affect eligibility for future pay increments and administrative posts.
Department officials said the updated rankings will take effect from the start of the next academic session, and lecturers may submit any objections within a stipulated period.
