Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inspected the ongoing health sector reforms in Jammu and Kashmir, outlining progress and upcoming initiatives.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conducted a detailed review of the state's health sector reforms on Monday. The review covered recent upgrades to district hospitals, the rollout of tele‑medicine services in remote areas, and the implementation of a new public‑private partnership model for primary care.

During the inspection, Abdullah highlighted that more than 30 health facilities have been equipped with modern diagnostic equipment under the reform program. He also noted that the state government is accelerating the recruitment of specialist doctors to address critical shortages in rural hospitals.

The chief minister emphasized that the reforms aim to improve accessibility, reduce patient out‑of‑pocket expenses, and align Jammu and Kashmir's health standards with national benchmarks. Further steps, including the launch of a digital health records system, are slated for the next quarter.
