Around 6,935 of 13,823 BA first‑year students at Jiwaji University were placed on the supplementary list and 550 were declared fail, prompting a protest alleging evaluation flaws.

Jiwaji University in Gwalior released the results for its Bachelor of Arts first‑year batch, indicating that 6,935 out of 13,823 candidates have been assigned supplementary examinations while 550 have been marked as failed. The large number of students facing supplementary exams has triggered unrest on campus.

Student groups gathered near the university administration building, demanding a review of the evaluation process. They claim that inconsistencies and errors in marking have unfairly affected their scores, leading to the unusually high supplementary count.

University officials acknowledged the grievances and said a committee would be formed to re‑examine the papers. They urged students to remain calm while the review is underway, emphasizing that any corrective action will follow the university’s academic regulations.

The protest remained largely peaceful, with participants holding placards and chanting slogans for transparent assessment. Local authorities have been informed, and no arrests have been reported so far.
