Ranchi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has announced plans to establish ten new departments costing ₹466 crore, and to increase its postgraduate intake by 256 seats along with 150 super‑speciality seats.
RIMS has revealed a comprehensive expansion blueprint aimed at bolstering medical education and services in Jharkhand. The proposal includes the creation of ten new departments, a move that is expected to enhance specialty care across the state.
The expansion is projected to cost ₹466 crore, a significant investment that will be channeled into infrastructure, equipment and faculty recruitment.
In addition to the new departments, RIMS plans to increase its postgraduate capacity by 256 seats and introduce 150 super‑speciality seats, thereby widening opportunities for medical professionals and improving patient care.
