All schools in the listed districts of Jharkhand were ordered to remain closed today due to the approach of Cyclone Arnab.
The Jharkhand state education department announced on Thursday that schools across the state will remain closed as Cyclone Arnab moves closer to the region. The directive applies to all government and private schools in the districts identified by the department as being under threat from the severe weather system.
A detailed list of the affected districts has been published on the department’s official website, advising parents and students to keep children at home until further notice. Authorities have urged schools to monitor the cyclone’s progress and to follow safety protocols issued by the state disaster management agency.
Cyclone Arnab, expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to eastern India, prompted the pre‑emptive closure to safeguard students, staff and infrastructure. The government has also deployed emergency response teams to the most vulnerable areas to assist with evacuation and relief operations.
The education department has indicated that regular classes will resume once the cyclone has passed and a post‑storm safety assessment is completed, urging the public to stay informed through official channels.
