Jharkhand has announced a comprehensive higher education roadmap that introduces AI-focused courses and establishes technical education clusters to boost skill development.
On July 2024, the Jharkhand government unveiled a new higher education roadmap aimed at modernizing the state's academic landscape. The plan, presented by the Minister of Higher Education, outlines a strategic framework for introducing advanced courses and strengthening technical institutions.
Central to the roadmap is the inclusion of artificial intelligence (AI) modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, along with the creation of dedicated technical education clusters. These clusters will bring together universities, polytechnics, and industry partners to foster research, internships, and skill development.
Officials say the initiative will position Jharkhand as a hub for technology education and attract investment. Implementation will begin in the upcoming academic year, with pilot centers set up in major districts.
