The Jharkhand High Court today appointed a retired High Court judge to monitor the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) selection process.
The decision follows mounting pressure from candidates and civil society groups who have raised concerns about the conduct of the JPSC exams and the selection of candidates for state government posts.
The retired judge will review the SIT’s findings, ensure that the investigation is conducted impartially, and report back to the court on any recommendations for corrective action.
The court said the appointment was made to restore confidence in the state’s public service recruitment system and to ensure that any wrongdoing is addressed transparently.
