Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Reviews Chandil Dam Development, Aims to Boost Tourism and Power Generation

Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited the Chandil Dam site in Jharkhand on Tuesday to assess the progress of the project. The dam, located in the Chandil block of Koderma district, is part of the state’s strategy to harness river water for power generation and irrigation. During the visit, Soren highlighted the need to accelerate construction and emphasized the importance of integrating tourism infrastructure around the reservoir. He announced that the government will allocate additional funds to develop scenic viewpoints, boating facilities, and heritage walkways to attract visitors. The CM also reiterated the commitment to meet the state’s renewable energy targets by expanding hydroelectric capacity at Chandil.
