The Jharkhand government has announced the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL exam, following protests by students who claim their demands were not fully addressed.

The Jharkhand government has decided to cancel the upcoming JSSC-CGL examination, scheduled to be held in the coming weeks. The decision was announced by the state’s Department of Public Service Commission after a series of student protests demanding changes in the exam pattern and reservation policies.

Students, who had gathered in front of the state secretariat, voiced that their primary demands—such as a revised syllabus, clearer notification guidelines, and increased reservation for certain categories—had not been met. They argued that the cancellation was a concession to their demands, but felt that the core issues remained unresolved.

In a statement, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission said the cancellation was taken to “prevent further unrest and to reassess the exam framework.” Officials also mentioned that a new exam schedule would be released once the concerns were addressed.

The cancellation has left thousands of aspirants scrambling to adjust their preparation plans. Many have expressed disappointment, citing the financial and time investment they had already made for the exam.
