The decision was announced by the state’s Department of Public Service Commission after a series of student protests demanding changes in the exam pattern and reservation policies.
Students, who had gathered in front of the state secretariat, voiced that their primary demands—such as a revised syllabus, clearer notification guidelines, and increased reservation for certain categories—had not been met. They argued that the cancellation was a concession to their demands, but felt that the core issues remained unresolved.
In a statement, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission said the cancellation was taken to “prevent further unrest and to reassess the exam framework.” Officials also mentioned that a new exam schedule would be released once the concerns were addressed.
