JD(U) legislator Anant Singh has opened a campaign against the party’s own candidate Neeraj Kumar, urging support for Jan Suraj’s Dr. Anuj Singh during a road‑show in Nalanda.
Mokama MLA Anant Singh, representing the Janata Dal (United), publicly challenged his party’s nominee Neeraj Kumar in the Patna graduate MLC election. Singh announced his opposition during a rally in Nalanda, where he called on voters to back the Jan Suraj candidate, Dr. Anuj Singh, instead of the official JD(U) contender.
The road‑show in Nalanda was organized to mobilise local support and to highlight Singh’s demand for a change in the party’s candidate selection. He urged constituents to reject Neeraj Kumar and to vote for Dr. Anuj Singh, positioning the latter as a stronger representative for the graduate constituency.
While the JD(U) has not issued an official response, the intra‑party dispute underscores growing tensions within the party ahead of the upcoming MLC polls in Patna. The outcome could influence the party’s performance in the graduate seats and affect its broader electoral strategy in Bihar.
