The October 10 performance by Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas in Mohali has come under public scrutiny because several songs mention weapons and alcohol.
Jasmine Sandlas took the stage in Mohali, Punjab, on October 10, drawing a sizable crowd for her popular Punjabi repertoire. The concert, part of her ongoing tour, was scheduled to run without incident.
However, a segment of the audience and local community groups raised objections after hearing a number of her songs that contain references to firearms and alcoholic beverages. Critics argue that such lyrics may glorify violence and substance use, prompting calls for greater sensitivity in public performances.
As of now, no official action has been announced by law‑enforcement agencies, and the event is proceeding as planned. The debate highlights the growing tension between artistic expression and societal concerns in the region.
