State officials in Jammu & Kashmir have convened a review to assess the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission‑Urban and AMRUT 2.0 programmes.
Jammu & Kashmir’s administration held a high‑level review meeting to examine the status of two flagship urban development programmes – Swachh Bharat Mission‑Urban (SBM‑U) and the second phase of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT 2.0). The gathering brought together senior officials from the state’s urban development department, municipal bodies and the central ministries overseeing the schemes.
During the session, participants presented data on sanitation infrastructure, solid‑waste management, and water supply projects undertaken under SBM‑U and AMRUT 2.0. The review highlighted areas where targets have been met, as well as gaps that require additional funding or technical support.
The officials reaffirmed their commitment to accelerate ongoing projects, improve service delivery to citizens, and align future interventions with the national objectives of clean and resilient urban spaces. A follow‑up action plan is expected to be drafted based on the findings of this review.
