Authorities in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are preparing for an anticipated power deficit of 400 megawatts.
Officials have warned that the region could experience a shortfall of around 400 MW in electricity supply. The warning comes as demand rises and generation capacity faces constraints.
To manage the expected deficit, authorities are assessing load‑shedding options and exploring ways to augment supply from available sources. Coordination between power distribution companies and grid operators is underway.
Residents and industrial consumers are being advised to prepare for possible interruptions, while continuous monitoring of the grid situation is being carried out to minimise disruption.
