The Meteorological Department reported that Jammu and Kashmir received near-normal seasonal rainfall, even though July saw a surplus and August a deficit.

The Meteorological Department (MeT) said that the overall seasonal rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir was close to the long-term average. This assessment came after reviewing the monsoon months across the region.

MeT noted that July recorded rainfall above the normal level, while August experienced a shortfall compared to the usual average. The two months balanced out to give a near-normal seasonal total.

The information was shared by Kashmir Life, which cited the MeT’s official statement on the region’s rainfall pattern.
