The university administration says stone‑pelting, demolition of a gate and a breach of CCTV coverage have heightened tension on the Jamia Millia Islamia campus.
University officials at Jamia Millia Islamia reported a series of incidents that have escalated tension on campus. According to the administration, students were observed throwing stones in several locations, prompting security concerns.
In addition to the stone‑pelting, the administration alleges that a gate on the campus perimeter was forcibly demolished, disrupting controlled entry points. The damage has been documented by staff and is being investigated for possible violations of university property rules.
The university also flagged a breach in its closed‑circuit television system, claiming that the CCTV coverage was tampered with or disabled during the unrest. Authorities are reviewing footage and have launched an internal probe to identify responsible parties and restore full surveillance.
The administration has not released details about any injuries or arrests, but it has warned that further violations could lead to stricter disciplinary measures. The incidents come amid a broader climate of student activism across Indian campuses.
Jamia Millia Islamia has urged students to cooperate with the investigation and maintain campus order while the matter is being resolved.
