A teacher at a Jalandhar soldier school has been accused of fraudulently siphoning 27.67 lakh rupees.

Police in Jalandhar have arrested a teacher from a soldier school after allegations that he siphoned 27.67 lakh rupees from the institution's funds.

The teacher, whose identity has not yet been released, is said to have misappropriated the money over a period of several months.

Investigators are reviewing financial records and interviewing staff to trace the flow of the funds.

The case has been forwarded to the district crime branch for further action.

The school, which caters to children of armed forces personnel, has issued a statement that it is cooperating fully with authorities.
