Jalandhar's rural police launched a large‑scale anti‑drug operation following directives from Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. The raid resulted in the seizure of 515 grams of heroin, 456 narcotic tablets and a motorcycle believed to be used by the suspects.
Law enforcement officials apprehended 17 individuals alleged to be involved in the narcotics network. Each arrest was accompanied by the registration of a separate case, bringing the total to 15 criminal complaints under relevant drug‑related statutes.
Authorities said the confiscated heroin and pills will be handed over to forensic labs for further analysis, while the seized motorcycle will be retained as evidence. The operation underscores the state's intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking in Punjab's rural districts.
